Representing India's commitment to use of Clean Coal to the world, Coal Preparation Society of India (CPSI) is a not - for - prot, non-government professional body of coal, power, iron and steel sectors and their allied industries. CPSI's mission is to promote washing of high ash domestic coal to improve its quality and enhance the caloric value, making it more environment friendly and suitable for use in High Efciency Low Emission (HELE) power generating systems as well as for gasication and conversion into chemicals, CTL and other high value petroleum substitutes. It will therefore be a step, which will facilitate fullling the country's commitment made at the Paris Climate Treaty.
Main Objectives of CPSI inter alia are:CPSI is registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860 and its head ofce is located in New Delhi. CPSI is a member of the International Organizing Committee (IOC) of the International Coal Preparation Congress (ICPC). CPSI is a member of IOC representing India.
Domestic and Global Network:CPSI is an Associate Member of the World Coal Association - a global industry association formed of major international coal producers and stakeholders and has bilateral relationship with IEA Clean Coal Centre, UK for promoting clean coal technologies for use in High Efciency Low Emission (HELE) power generating systems.
CPSI has bilateral arrangements with China National Coal Association (CNCA), Coal Preparation Society of Ukraine and similar organisations of other IOC member countries for technical knowledge sharing and exchange of experts and trainees.
CPSI is a Member of ASSOCHAM and also an Associate Member of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Major industry bodies like Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI), Sponge Iron Manufacturers Association (SIMA), Association of Power Producers (APP), ASSOCHAM of India, World Coal Association (WCA), IEAClean Coal Centre (UK) are associating and supporting CPSI's efforts towards cleaning of coal and introduction of clean coal technologies so that India can meet its emissions reduction target committed at Paris Climate Treaty.
